NVIDIA G92 successfully taped out

0

G92 is the next high-end graphics chip from graphics circuit manufacturer NVIDIA. The chip is expected to arrive in November this year and bring performance somewhere around 1 TFLOPS. Rumors even say that NVIDIA might be thinking of combing two of these to create a new GX2 card, and really squash ATI. There are still a lot of things to do till then, but it at least seems that NVIDIA has successfully taped out G92. The chip is made with a 65nm process, which is the same lane width ATI is using for its current low-end and mid-range assortment and the coming RV670 chip. There’s no telling what kind of specifications there will be, but considering the TFLOPS speculations there should be plenty of transistors to play with.
