NVIDIA recently updated its family of GeForce 8 with new mid-end creations and even if they now offer more affordable cards based on the new G80 architecture there is a large gap between these cards and the integrated circuits. NVIDIA has therefore launched a new card for the entry level market, which is suppose to be an affordable upgrade for those who are using integrated circuits, or doesn’t want to pick a chipset with an integrated solution and just need something that can process pixels. GeForce 7200 GS is the name of the new card and it has been certified for Windows Vista Premium with DX9.0 and Shader Model 3.0 support. The G72 circuit used by NVIDIA’s GeForce 7200 GS is a stripped down version of the circuit used by today’s GeForce 7300 series.
NVIDIA claims that GeForce 7200 GS, despite that the card only has 2 pixel pipelines, offers up to 50% better performance than the latest integrated graphics circuit. Although, the card will cost less than 50 USD.
