GeForce 9600GT was suppose to become the first card of the GeForce 9 series, but as time progresses we get more and more indications that it will in fact not arrive ahead of the rest. Several stories have spread over the web and we assume that original source is the same, because they all say that the launch has been postponed to February 28th. There’s no reason specified anywhere, but we asked and it seems that Chinese new year is once again the culprit, but not alone.
We reported a while back about how the card needed some more work, and this is also suppose to be part of the problem. Right now it seems like the GeForce 9 series will officially launch on February 28th. GeForce 9800GX2, GeForce 9600GT and perhaps GeForce 9800GTX are the first three we fairly certain of. All of these should be expected to make an appearance at CeBIT at the beginning of next month. Then we have 9500GT and 9800GT coming in later.
