NVIDIA Quad SLI technology is a very powerful 3D graphics solution and gamers with more money than necessary can invest in a Quad SLI system for the optimal performance. This puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the components and games overall to be able to make use of all this power. If there is any market that is in constant need of graphics performance its the workstation market where NVIDIA has its Quadro series of video cards. Recently NVIDIA presented 6 new Quadro cards, but it seems more is coming. Despite that it hasn’t mentioned it there is a lot of detailed information about a Quadro FX 4500 X2 card from NVIDIA. Quadro FX 4500 X2 is a video card with dual graphics circuits and would then be the workstation market’s equivalent to the GeForce 7900 GX2 that is used to create Quad SLI systems on the desktop market.

According to information Quadro FX 4500 X2 will be built on the same PCB as the Quad SLI cards NVIDIA launched for the PC market and NVIDIA has already displayed some benchmarks with FX 4500 X2 in its Quadro documentation. Interestingly it’s far from any double performance as with the single-circuit models, but with the right applications there is a lot of performance to gain.

Quadro FX 4500 X2 is rumored to consume more than 200W tops, but there is no information regarding the card’s frequencies. The price is also missing at the moment, but considering that the single-circuit card costs about $1800 in stores, it’s probably best to live in denial.
