NVIDIA has released its report for the fiscal quarter of 2008 ending April 29. NVIDIA has been allowed to dominate the top segment of the graphics card market through its GeForce 8 series, something that perhaps hasn’t been the biggest income, but been very good PR and contributed with indirect income. The revenue during the first quarter was $844.3 million, which is 24% more than the same quarter last year. At the same time, the operating income was $132.3 million, which is an improvement of 44%. Parts of this is due to an increased demand for its graphics circuits and chipsets for mobile systems and a steady improvement of the nForce family.

“Our growth reflects the ever growing importance of the GPU across a broad range of computing and digital devices. The GPU is one of the most important enablers for the digital consumer era. Over the next 10 years, we estimate that over 10 billion GPUs will be needed to power PCs, mobile devices, cars, TVs, and game consoles. Our strategy is clear and focused – to be the world leader in GPUs and capitalize on this exciting opportunity,” – Jen-Hsun Huang – Co-Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer
