Nvidia has launched the cards of the 600 series at a slow and steady pace. The latest Geforce GTX 650 Ti fills the last void of the series and is not positioned to compete with any of AMD’s models, but slides in between HD 7770 and HD 7850 in both price and performance.
Geforce GTX 650 Ti is based on the relatively new graphics circuit GK106, but has some clusters deactivated. One of the memory buses at 64-bit has been removed, resulting in only 128-bit to play with. The assymetric setup with three GPC units, whereof one has only one SMX unit with 192 CUDA cores, could affect performance depending on which sample you get from the store. This is since some cards will have three GPC units and other only two. Nvidia says the difference is negligible.

Besdes a smaller memory bus at 128-bit, the GDDR5 memory bus is clocked at only 5 400 MHz, which limits the bandwidth to relatively low 86.4 GB/s. The graphics processor has a clock frequency at 925 MHz and lacks GPU Boost. GTX 650 Ti with these clock frequencies will be rare since nearly all cards from Nvidia’s partners are overclocked from factory.
The TDP is relatively low 110 watt and the reference design comes with a single 6-pin PCI-Express port. Connectivity includes a sole Mini HDMI and two Dual-Link DVI. Geforce GTX 650 Ti can be had in two versions with either 1 or 2 GB GDDR5 memory. The performance difference between the two depends on the game and resolution you play, but the price difference will be 20 dollar.
Geforce GTX 650 Ti looks to perform somewhere between Radeon HD 7770 and HD 7850, and priced accordinlgy. Geforce GTX 650 Ti will be available from Nvidia manufacturing partners like som Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Zotac andEVGA.
