NVIDIA earlier unveiled the Quadro Plex box, which is basically an external case containing two Quadro-tweaked G200 GPUs, also known as Quadro FX 5800 (I don’t blame you if the name gives you a bad vibe). The Quadro Plex D series is intended for 3D modeling and handling large datasets, but it can do so much more. NVIDIA stated that it would show off the potential of Quadro Plex D2 at Siggraph, and so it has.
The press release mentioned realtime raytracing based on NVIDIA GPU technology. NVIDIA has now released a set of pictures showing off the raytracing that was on display at Siggraph.
