nVidias official launch of the GeForce FX 5900 XT has gone past rather silent. For those of you who hasn’t been keeping pace with the ongoing evolution I can reveal that teh 5900 XT is their new medium range board. 4×2 architecture with a 390MHz core, 700MHz memory-clock and a 256bit memorybuss guarantees that this card will strike  the FX 5700 Ultra and 9600 XT hard.

It’s a bit strange but we have been given rapports that the 5900 XT and the 5900 SE was to be the same card. If this is true then we can reveal already now that it won’t be fighting in the same price class as the two other named challengers. We have asked nVidia to explain the deal for us but we are still awaiting an answer.

You can read Tech Reports article of what they call the 5900 XT here.

nVidia are also aiming to give ATi’s Half-Life 2 deal a challenge by providing a special deal with Activisions Call of Duty. Not that this game is as hot, but the game is out, it’s not a bad game either, and all the HL2 crowd has been given as of yet is a coupon and a lot of empty promises.

You can read more about Activisions deal with nVidia here.
