Almost a month ago, nVidia released some information about its upcoming software, nVidia System Utility. Now, the software has become available for download and among its features we find overclocking in Windows and manipulation of BIOS settings. But if you want really good information about the program, we can strongly recommend NVnews’ article about System Utility, where we can read exactly what you can use the program for.
Today, System Utility has support for the following mainboard chipsets: nVidia nForce2 Ultra 400, nForce2 400, nForce3 Pro 150 and nForce3 150.
For full functionality it requires a real BIOS support on the mainboard and so far it is only a few mainboards which offers this, and they are as following:
• NVIDIA nForce2:
o ASUS A7N8X-E
o Biostar M7NCG
o Epox EP-8RDA+
o Epox EP-8RDA3+
o ABIT NF7-S
• NVIDIA nForce 3:
o Gigabyte K8NNXP
o Shuttle AN50
We have tested the software on an ABIT NF7-S 2.0 ourselves, but actually we couldn’t manage to get the “advanced overclocking” menu to work which we have seen several users report. It looks like the guys at NVnews has managed with this on their NF7-S 2.0, but it doesn’t say in clear text if that is the case and how they have managed to do it.
