ASUS will launch mainboards with integrated TV-tuners according to CDRinfo. ASUS will use an analog tuner from Philips thus introducing its first mainboard with support for TV-reception. The two chip solution that Philips has developed is a silicon-based tuner and audio/video decoder that is delivered as a very compact package. In other terms perfect for integration on a mainboard. In its original appearance the circuit supports NTSC, PAL and SECAM signals but with an extra decoder you get supprot for digitalTV: DVB-T. It’s going to be very interesting to see how ASUS solutino performs, especially since TV-tuners are often very sensitive to interferences.
