GeForce 8600 and 8500 was launched earlier this week and so far we’ve seen over 30 cards being launched by more than 10 manufacturers. Even if many have chosen to use NVIDIA’s reference design, cooling and frequencies there are those who stand out; for example Gigabyte which uses passive cooling, or MSI, Biostar and XFX which all have cards geared toward overclockers. The number of reviews aren’t quite as many as the cards, but they are still quite many and we’ve gathered a whole bunch of them below.

Bit-tech and HotHardware have both published large roundups where they compare GeForce 8600 to cards from both NVIDIA and AMD/ATI. You can clearly see that NVIDIA’s older mid-range cards are left far behind, but at the same time it’s far from the performance of the slightly more expensive 8800GTS, while AMD/ATI has cards that performance equally for less money, DirectX 10 aside.
