Hackers gets more and more oppurtinities to make ”clean” money at finding security holes in software and computers. At Ars Technica they’ve published a newsarticle about how security companies pay hackers for information about weaknesses and then be able to offer better protection than the competitors. Among the companies mentioned that use this tactic we find TippingPoint, a part of 3Com. But also better known companies such as Mozilla offers cash payment for those who find breaches in its browser Firefox. Thus there are more possibilities for hackers to make money on the right side of the law. But at the same time its hard for the companies that buys this information to morally defend these kind of deals, ”Then there is the issue of whether or not you want to do business with ”The Dark Side.”.
