Several of AMD’s partners will present new versions of the popular performance card Radeon HD 6950 in the coming weeks. The big difference from the cards launched in December 2010 is that the graphics memory has been halved to 1GB to push down prices and compete with GeForce GTX 560 Ti.
HIS is one of the first that is ready with its budget model of Radeon HD 6950. Its Radeon HD 6950 1GB Fan Edition is different in several ways, making it distinct from 2GB GDDR5 RAM.
By cutting the memory buffer in half it has also been abe to cut the size of the circuit board and lower power consumption. The card is shorter than previous models of HD 6950 while the less demanding GDDR5 circuits has lowered the power requirements.
HIS Radeon HD 6950 1GB Fan Edition comes with 1408 stream processors and ships with clock frequencies of 800 MHz GPU and 5000 MHz memory. The cooler is full cover with a large fan in the middle. Price were not revealed.
