Intel has decided to sneak out a new SSD in the X25-M family and as we could reveal earlier this Fall it is new drive of the second generation with 34nm MLC NAND flash circuits and SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, but this time with 120GB capacity.

Already back in September NordicHardware revealed that Intel is planning to launch a new 120GB model of the current generation SSDs. The idea was to fill the void and hold out until the third generaton SSDs appear in Q1 2011.

Thenew 120GB G2 SSD has the same specifications as the smaller sibling at 80GB, which means 250 MB/s read speed and 70 MB/s write speed. Intel X25-M G2 120GB is already listed in stores and costs just less than 200€.
