Rumours are going around that Intel is about to leave the low end segment and stop making i865 and i915. When we first heard about these rumours we had a hard time to really believe them but at PC Pro they now report that Intel has even contacted chipset manufacturer SiS for a potential cooperation. SiS would in that case supply Intel with chipsets for low end mainboards, which would result in Intel branded mainboards with non-Intel chipets. If this turns out to be true we should see Intel mainboards with SiS chipsets in stores during October.
