LG has launched a new 3D monitor and its DM50D model is different from competing models. LG has borrow technology from its TVs and taken the passive 3D technology, CINEMA 3D, to the next level, where you don’t need expensive and flickering shutter glasses. All packaged into a stylish and slim design.
LG DM50D is so far just a name on paper since LG has not revealed any specifications. We don’t know the size od the panel or any more details other than that it will have 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, supports CINEMA 3D and excellent brightness, double up compared to traditional 3D monitors says LG. It mentions an integrated digital TV receiver, surround speakers and HDMI input.
CINEMA 3D will according to LG offer a flicker free 3D experience, something that is often experienced with the active technology used by TVs and PC monitors. This makes the glasses for LG’s monitors are a lot cheaper and it should actually work with the ”old” red-green paper glasses, which is a lot cheaper than the $100 models required for active 3D monitors.
Although, CINEMA 3D halves the vertical resolution and lose some details, and what you may prefer in terms of 3D viewing is entirely personal, but we do like the progression of more and cheaper versions for the masses.
LG DM50D will reach stores in July, in Europe, but the price is uncertain. This is why they need a better tool, and the best monitor for programmers should do everything else.
