We earlier reported about how Nintendo had been sued for ”faulty” wrist-straps for the Wii controller. They claimed that these straps during regular use would break and cause the controller to fly across the room. Something we found both amusing and odd. Anyhow, Nintendo has now answered to these claims and as expected: ”We believe the lawsuit to be completely without merit.” According to Nintendo’s own tests, and others, it has turned out to be very hard to break the strap. This didn’t stop Nintendo from exchanging the straps to stronger such and offer customers to get their straps exchanged as well. We have a hard time seeing that this would lead to any repercussions for Nintendo, but then again never say never.
