Both Intel and AMD have started integrating very capable GPUs into their processors, which makes NVIDIA’s future on the mobile market uncertain. NVIDIA’s Rene Haas says that its 28nm graphics circuits that will be introduced just before Ivy Bridge and will be the better option to Intel’s integrated.

We recently reported about the 60% boost in graphics performance with Intel’s Ivy Bridge. This would put Ivy Bridge on about the same level as AMD A6-3650 and really put pressure on the graphics cards in the budget segment and make these near useless.

NVIDIA’s Rene Haas that is head of mobile at NVIDIA says, despite Ivy Bridge gets better graphics, NVIDIA is preparing something even better. He says that the current generation adds 20-30% over the Sandy Bridge graphics and it is also a number that should reflect on the next generation GPUs at 28nm versus Intel Ivy Bridge. We can only assume that Rene means that its graphics circuits in the lower segments like GT 520M performs right above Intel HD 3000.

From NVIDIA’s cryptic message N13M-GS should be slightly faster than Ivy Bridge

NVIDIA even claims Intel is good at optimizing its graphics for benchmarks, which we also know that both NVIDIA and AMD have done. What it wants said is that benchmarks is not what really counts, but the actual flow in games. NVIDIA’s mobile 28nm GPUs will ship to partners in January, while Ivy Bridge will appear in March-April.
