Small preview image

Radeon X1900 and GeForce 7900 are the two coming generations of high end cards which will continue where X1800 and 7800 left off. The new cards have appeared a lot in the new here at NH and even if we still don’t have any official facts to publish from the manufacturers we can at least drewl over inoficial information that has appeared so far. Radeon X1900’s 48 pixel processors and GeForce 7900 700MHz GPU makes gamers and overclockers’ mouths water, the least to say. To ease the pain, or perhaps increase it(?), we can post information about some benchmark results Hexus has posted.

3DMark 05
ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB CrossFire – 13 501
ATI Radeon X1900 XTX 512MB – 11 149
ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB – ~10 000
NVIDIA GeForce 7900 512MB  – ~13 000*
*All done with a FX-57 except for this with a FX-60 clocked at 2,8GHz

Comparison:
ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB Crossfire – 12 050**
ATI Radeon X1800 XT 512MB – 9 271
NVIDIA GeForce 7800GTX 512MB – 9 608
**Same as above but a 4600+ at 2,4GHz was used

These are highly prelimiar figures and nothing else but a hint of what we should be able to expect from the cards.
