We’ve now received new information that says that FBI has made a number of razzias against scene servers found higher up in the hierarchy of the piracy community where it has has according to the MPAA confiscated up to 30 servers containing large amounts pirated material, somethng that has caused four large sites to more or less shutdown thanks to the FBI. Several release groups have been affected and in a press release intended for the scene they say that the groups are DiAMOND, SAGA, FLAMES, TBE and NBP. At the same time they advice other groups to tighten the security and in that way make it harder for FBI and MPAA to gain access to their sites and servers.
That this bust was made just a week after the attemp to take down The Pirate Bay is hardly a coincidence, especially as the MPAA was very quick to applaud the Swedish police for its actions. What effects this, the last attempt will have in the long run remains to be seen.
