Spotify has announced the first preview of Spotify for Linux. As a preview Spotify offers nu support for users, but says that the beta tests shows promise, even if the Linux version still lacks some features.

Spotify for Linux have some problems with handling local music, hence the function for playing locally stored music isn’t available yet. Unfortunately it hasn’t been able to get advertisements just right in Linux, which may sound like a good thing for Spotify Free users, but this means that Spotify for Linux is only available to Premium users at the moment.
