Toshiba is one of the first to bring the no-glasses 3D technology to market. It has announced the portable multimedia system Qosmio F750 3D that besides a 2.0 GHz Core i7 processor and GeForce GT540M graphics card with a High Definition 15.6″ screen. A screen that can also show 3D, without annoying glasses.

Toshiba Qosmio F750 3D focuses on users consuming a lot of multimedia and beside a powerful processor and a discrete graphics card we find 6GB RAM, 640GB harddrive and Blu-ray burner with BD-XL media (100GB) support.

Other nice functions is a speaker system with Herman Kardon technology, multi card reader, HD web camera, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11n and Windows 7 Home Premium. The piece de resistance of the 2.8 kilo machine is the 15.6″ screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and stereoskopic 3D.

Toshiba started the glasses-free 3D with Regza GL1 and brings it to new markets with Qosmio F750 3D and it as made sure to make the most of the 3D technology. The biggest disadvantage with no-gasses 3D is that you can only see 3D effects from a specific angle. By using the webcamera and tracking the viewer the computer changes this 3D angles to follow your position. You can only watch it from one angle, which means your friends on the sides won’t experience what you are seeing, but is still a good enough technology for most.

qosmioToshiba has also solved so that you can show 2D and 3D material at the same time. You can for example show a 3D movie while working in Word in the background.

Toshiba Qosmio F750 3D is expected to cost around $2,000 and arrive in Europe in August.
