Asian component maker Yeston has given AMD’s new baby, Radeon HD 6970, an overhaul. Yeston has made room for no less than 15 power phases and positions the card in the Game Master series where we also find the extreme HD 6850 version.

Yeston Game Master HD 6970 2GB has 12 power phases dedicated for the GPU, two for the GDDR5 memory circuits and one for the I/O components. The total 15 power phases almost double up the original 8 phases and should open up for even higher clock frequencies in the right hands.

So far Yeston has only presented the card – without any circuits – but judging from its design we would guess that Arctic Cooling will get its cooler on there like so many other Yeston cards, especially those part of the Game Master series.
