OCZ Technology has confirmed that it will be closing its subsidiary Hypersonic PC, acquired back in 2007. Hypersonic was supposed to be another channel for OCZ to get components out on the mark, but after internal competition with other system builders and poor revenues the company decided to close Hypersonic for good and return to the core activity, SSD, RAM and PSU.
According to OCZ Technology VP Alex Mei there is no reason for customers of Hypersonic to worry. The company will offer full warranty and Hypersonic’s website is now just a service portal.
Hopefully this means OCZ will get better focus on its already interesting storage solutions and power supplies.
