OCZ EL PC2-8000 XTC is one of the first kits to use Micron’s new DDR2 memory chip and with a specified speed at DDR2-1000 at the relatively low latencies 4-5-4-15 there is a lot to live up to. At Anandtech they’ve taken a closer look at these memory modules that have some of the freakiest specifications you can find and considering AMD will soon launch its Socket AM2 platform with DDR2-800 support the hunt for really fast DDR2 memories is getting more and more imminent. OCZ seems to have done a good job with its new high-end modules as it can offer both aggressive latencies at low speeds and at the same time really high frequencies, beyond 1000MHz if needed.
