The OCZ ReaperX memory series uses a new cooler which is an evolution of the OCZ Reaper HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) cooler. The new cooler sports dual heatpipes to remove the heat from the chips in the best possible manner.
“ReaperX HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) modules offload heat with extreme efficiency due to a new dual copper heat pipe design. Each memory chip is in direct contact with a thermo-conductive pipe that guides the performance robbing heat away from key memory components and quickly dissipates it through the aluminum fin array.”
OCZ has launched a DDR2-800 memory kit specified at 4-4-3 timings and a capacity of 4 GB using the new cooler. Even if the clock frequency of the modules is far from the highest we’ve seen, they still sport an impressive capacity. Except from the specially designed cooler, the modules comes with EPP and have been optimized for the nForce 680i chipset.
