Memory maker OCZ has a rich assortment of Solid State products and it has tried many different manufacturers of NAND flash memory controllers and memory chips. Lately it has been working together with Indilinx but it has now presented a new partners among SSDs, SandForce. We wrote about SandForce earlier this year when it launched its new SF-1000 family of Solid State processors, and these have now found their way to OCZ, and are expected to be used in both retail and business drives.

The SandForce SSD processors SF-1200 and SF-1500 will appear in different Solid State Drives from OCZ, together with MLC and SLC memory circuits from the same company.

Even if OCZ hasn’t presented any concrete products yet, it has revealed a bit about the specifications we will be seeing storage capacities between 50GB and 400GB. They will use both SATA 3Gb/s and SAS 6Gb/s interfaces, but so far no information on SATA 6Gb/s.

“OCZ is committed to delivering SSD solutions to our enterprise clients and also has a strong following for our consumer solid state products; partnering with SandForce enables us to offer an even more robust offering to both these markets” – OCZ VP Ryan Petersen

During CES 2010, happening the first week of January next year, we should see the first product launch.
