Nintendo is, as you perhaps know, cooperating with browser developer Opera and after launching a tailor-made version of its browser for the Nintendo DS Lite it’s now time for the stationary console Wii. This comes as no surprise as we’ve seen this before, but we’re still very eager to see how Nintendo and Opera have solved it. Wii is without a doubt the console best suited for using a browser as the Wii controller can work more or less as a mouse.

The first version of Nintendo Wii’s Opera browser will be released on December 22, but this is only a test version. The full version will appear sometime in Spring, 2007 and will then come at a price, but 5 USD feels like a quite affordable such to get a working browser for your video game console. If it’s working right that is. We’re looking forward to the first impressions of Wii’s Internet browsing features, something Xbox 360 lacks completely and Sony has done a rather poor job with so far.
