Overclocking at DreamHack is a biannual event here at NordicHardware. We’ve been working closely together with both Intel and ASUS to bring the most extreme form of overclocking to the world’s largest computer festival for several years. Liquid nitrogen and the very latest hardware gets a date with two of the world’s leading overclockers in the form of Robert ‘crotale’ Kihlberg and Marcus ‘Kinc’ Hultin. This year they had some hardware based on NVIDIA’s latest GPU called G200 and the goal was to break new ground in Futuremark’s newest 3DMark benchmark, Vantage. And they did, two new world records and more to come.
“You have to experience it, you have to see it with your own eyes. If you’re lucky you will get a chance to do it yourself, and if you do, you should know that you are a part of a highly priviliged group of people. Overclocking in a closed and controlled environment is one thing, doing it live, at DreamHack, as part demonstration, part world record attempt, you have to take so many more things into consideration.”
