To some the holiday sales just aren’t enough and they have to turn to other measures to get what they need to satisfy their hardware needs. PC store V-Data in Västervik found out the hard way when burglars decided to break a windows and pick up a couple of well chosen products. Burglars may not be the sharpest of the bunch, but we can’t say the coup against V-Data was poorly planned.

After breaking the seven square meter large windows, costing around $2,000, the burglars quickly located what they were looking for. Among expensive graphics cards, monitors and other accessories they had decided to steal gear from one single brand, Swedish gaming accessory manufacturer Mionix.

“It’s the new Swedish gaming mice. We’d only sold three units of one of the models here in Västervik. They ran in ten meters into the store just to get these new mice. They just stormed in and cleaned out the shelf were they were located.” – Tony Svensson V-Data owner [quote translated from Swedish, source VT.se]

The goods were four mice worth tops $200, a tenth of the value of the windows they broke to get into the store.

A sad happening that certainly strengthens the belief that these guys or girls were not used to breaking into PC stores. We decided to contact Mionix about this, since V-Data has confirmed that these were the mice were the only products that were stolen;

”It’s tragic and very sad to see this happen to V-Data, but at the same time amusing that products from other established brands were neglected in favor of our mice” – Calle Conradsson, Mionix

The thieves disappeared before the police arrived, but left valuable evidence at the scene of the crime. Among others blood on the ground after getting cut on the broken glass.
