Japanese SSD maker PhotoFast has moved up the ranks fast and the last in the row of Solid State Drives is actually not for the performance freaks. PhotoFast has impressed over and over with impressive specifications but its G-Monster-IDE Notebook Edition shows that it also considers those with older computers.
The name gives it away as PhotoFast’s new SSD targets notebooks using the older IDE/PATA interface, however that doesn’t mean regular desktop PCs can’t use them, they can of course.
The PATA interface is more or less dead and sports quite limited specifications, compared to the much newer SATA interface and there PhotoFast G-Monster-IDE Notebook Edition settles for rather meager 80MB/s read speed and 45MB/s write speed. It comes with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB capacity. .
