PlayStation 3 is not a small console in comparison with its predecessor PS2 and at the same time Microsoft has been receiving harsh criticism for its large and loud consoles. PS3 has with its size and advanced components made many people worried that Sony would fall into the same trap. Through a curvy design it has tried to avoid the size issues as far as possible and now we’ve received some calming news about the noise. An editor at GamePro has namely had the oppurtinity to see and hear one of the new PS3 test kits which developers have received and the experience was very positive. The console has an integrated power supply and is despite this more or less completely silent while still remaining relatively cool.
This fact awoke almost animalistic feelings of said editor but without digging any deeper into this we can conclude that Sony has done a great job with keeping the design of the console, if this information is correct. Getting all of that advanced hardware into a console and at the same time keep the heat at bay sounds almost too good to be true, but within a month we will know for sure.
