PlayStation 3 is expected to be launched in Japan on November 11 and later on the 17 in the rest of the world. For such a massive launch you need a lot of consoles ready to cover the expected demand. Now it seems like Sony is in the right track as information from DigiTimes points to that ASUStek, which is building the video game consoles for Sony, has started to ship small volumes of the console. The first consoles was shipped at the beginning of July and now the work has begun with finishing the 4 million units that is the first goal. According to the news paper Apple Daily ASUS has received 200 000 component kits during June to manufacture the video game cosnole for Sony, but the coming months the volume is expected to increase significantly. They expect ASUS to ship over 1 million video game consoles to Sony between September and October.
