Recently, there has been a whole lot of news regarding the Xbox 360, which can be explained with the upcoming release in around a month. This, in combination with Sony being quite silent about their PS3 has ended up with it becoming a bit underrepresented. One of the reasons could be that the games developers doesn’t seem attracted to develop games to the console; it could get quite expensive.
And then not relating to the console itself, but the development-package needed to start programming, which runs loose at $17.6M. Money that not all too many companies has to spare. The reason for this pricetag is the advanced hardware the console utilizes, and thus feeling that they can guarantee a certain amount of quality in the games. How this all is going to sum up, we don’t know, since not all good games comes from the big companies. This, combined with that they’re more or less required to re-write the entire code to make it run on PC, doesn’t make it easier for the minor companies.
