PlayStation 3 won’t arrive until March in Europe, but already on November 17 it’s time for the Americans to drool over Sony’s new video game console. However, on the 11th Sony finally launched PlayStation 3 in its homeland Japan and despite a meager supply of 80,000 consoles they were all sold out veryfast. At GameSpot they’ve reported about the launch chaos as it only took a few hours for the stores to sell every console available at the launch day.
Sony is expected to ship about 100,000 consoles a week now so everyone who missed their chance last weekend will get more chances. The price of the consoles were about 424 USD for the 20GB model and 508 USD for the 60GB model, however these prices are not for America nor Europe. Already the prices in Japan have skyrocketed as the demand is many times higher than the demand. More information about the video game console will have to wait until the end of the week as the console will be launched USA soon.
