PlayStation 3 has been available in North America and Japan for a few months now and it’s now closing in on the next launch. We have for long known that Sony has been planning a launch in Europe in March and have now recevied an official date; March 23. Sony has announced that it will launch PlayStation 3 in Europe and Australia on March 23 and that the console will be accompanied by over 30 games. Sony Computer Entertainment has calculated that there will be about 1 million consoles available at the launch, but there is no word about how they will be distributed. However, we do know that we will only see the Premium version of PlayStation 3 in this part of the world.
PlayStation 3 Premium with its 60GB hårddisk will cost €599/£425 and hopefully we will not have to see auction sites flooded with consoles. More information about the launch and the launch titles can be found in SCEE’s press release.
