Playstation 3 will cost less than $500?

PlayStation 3 is the least to say the source of many rumors, perhaps becuase it has been delayed and will not arrive until the end of the year. Most rumors are about the performance or the price, and this time its the latter once again. It seems many game developers have stuck to the idea that PS3 will cost $499 when it arrives, a figure most have been referring to at least. This is not official information and some developers state they haven’t heard of any information regarding the price of the console, but $499 sounds like a feasible price. Micosoft has priced its main system Xbox 360 Premium at $399 and not even Sony has made a secret of that PS3 will cost more. If it can stick beneath $500 it should be pleased, but the question is how much of a loss it will generate in total and how much it can afford to lose per consoles sold.
