Sony made an early statement where it said that Playstation 3’s online services will have to be handled by the third party developers. This, like many other statements, was met with surprising looks from potential buyers, but as time progressed Sony changed its mind and decided to sit down and develop a service worthy of the competition. We’ve earlier reported about how IGN took a closer look at Playstation 3’s interface and concluded that Sony had chosen to continue the work it started with PSP. Now EuroGamer has had the chance of taking this one step further by using Playstation 3 to access its online service, a service that will be completely free of charge.
Just as Xbox 360 it will have a store where you can go to buy things for your games and such. Sony seems to have done very well with the interface, which hopefully will make Microsoft react a bit.
