IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader), a favorite amongst overclockers. Or not. They sure do protect our cores from being crushed when we use the massive coolers of today but still, overclockers always want the perfect contact between the cooling unit and the CPU. Thus many overlockers has polished down their IHS to mirror like surfaces or simply removed it. This to increase clock frequency and decrease temperature.
