PowerColor X1600 XT EVO2 is one of several products PowerColor will display at CeBIT, but this sytem is most likely the one that will attract the most attention. It is namely the first commercial water cooled Crossfire system. PowerColor has taken two X1600 XT cards and installed a specially deisgned water cooling kit, one for each card. This will give the cards the best possible cooling and reduce noise to a minimum, which is indeed a good combination. It would’ve been even more interesting if it had been PowerColor’s flagship based on the X1900 series, but it is still going to be very interesting to see how PowerColor has designed and developed this new system.
We’ve received a “good-to-go” from PowerColor with this Crossfire package, however when and at what cost we’re not sure. It will become a consumer product though.
This isn’t the first time PowerColor take a peak at water cooling for video cards and the last we heard was something quite different.
