PowerColor has now officially launched its first HDMI-capable graphics card and just as expected it is its Radeon X1600 Pro-based graphics card we’ve reported about at numerous occasions. PowerColor X1600 Pro HDMI sports HDCP and HD resolution at up to 1080p. The card is similar to the one launched by Sapphire earlier, it has used the same low-profile design with the card and also offers a sound input on the card from where the sound signal is then transferred to the HDMI interface making it possible to feed an HDMI monitor with both sound and picture through the same cable. The card’s graphics circuits works at 500MHz and has 256MB of GDDR3 memory working at 900MHz.
“PowerColor X1600 Pro HDMI is great for anyone building a media PC as it leaves them worry-free for future hardware upgrades.” says Ted Chen, CEO of Tul Corporation. “The card is extremely versatile as it’s an excellent choice for playing today’s latest games.”
PowerColor has told us that X1600 Pro HDMI will start to ship next week and the recommended price will be 149 USD, which is up to par with Sapphire’s X1600 Pro HDMI.
