PowerColor has just as most of ATI’s partners launched its own Radeon X1950 Pro graphics card and its card is a lot different from ATI’s reference. When ATI decided to sell graphics cards to its partners without coolers it opened up whole new possibilities for specially designed coolings. PowerColor seems to have adapted to this and has now teamed up with acknowledged graphics card cooler Arctic Cooling to equip its X1950 Pro graphics card with one of its coolers. Arctic Cooling is one of the best known cooling manufacturers and to gets its products preinstalled right out of the box seems like a pretty good idea to us.

The basic specifications of PowerColor’s X1950 Pro with Arctic Cooling’s cooler are the same as ATI’s reference but the frequencies have been raised a bit, from 575MHz/1380MHz to 600MHz/1400MHz. It has chosen to equip the card with Arctic Coolings Accelero X2 which is suppose to be both efficient and really quiet. The card will be named PowerColor X1950 PRO Extreme Edition and the price will be about $220. PowerColor will also launch a regular model of X1950 Pro with ATI’s reference cooler, but its Arctic Cooling model is looking a lot more interesting for those who are looking for a really efficient stock cooler. Just make sure you have enough space in the case as Accelero X2 is a quite big cooler.
