Microsoft’s next operating system, Longhorn, is to be launched in 2005 after a number of delays. (Actually the sequel to Longhorn, Blackcomb, was due to release in 2005.) With the new OS we will also get a new version of DirectX which goes under the name “Next”.
Some of the most competent graphics card editors (of course from Beyond3D) has taken a look at what the next generation of API has to offer and there are a whole lot of promising things in the approaching version.
