Over at DigiTimes they have come over some interesting information regarding Intel’s up and coming processor series. They have actually come over price estimations on Pentium 4 600-series (Prescott, S775, 2MB cache, 64-bit support) and their dual-core 800-series for the desktop market.
The prices of the 600-series are relatively accurate since the first models are to appear within a month .
The Smithfield-based dual-core-processorers won’t be launched until the end of the second quarter and the prices of these are somewhat uncertain.

An interesting comparising is between the P4 630 and 830-models. Both processors work at 3.0GHz, but the latter uses two integrated processor cores. The difference in price is about 40%, which could be an indication of the addition in price for the dual core series.

Whether this is an acceptable increase or not remains to see, but at the moment we at least know what to expect.
