Qimonda has announced several technological advancements that will not only lead to higher density chips, but also cheaper such. Qimonda’s Buried Wordline DRAM technology makes it possible to create chips that are not only smaller, but also faster and more power efficient. The company will start making chips with the technology at 46nm sometime in H1 of 2009. At the same time, the company announced that it is planning on starting the production of 65nm 1Gb DDR2 chips with this technology in H2 2008.
