Quad SLI and Matrox TripleHead2Go are two really exciting technologies for the video card market and where Quad SLI from NVIDIA supplies the extreme performance Matrox contibutes with the extreme experience. Instead of perhaps buying a 30″ LCD monitor, which costs quite a buck, which you could use with Quad SLI, you can take a look at Matrox’ solution that instead of using one big monitor uses three smaller ones. We have earlier reported about TripleHead2Go and then a little about how the system works. Condensed it’s a small gadget that let’s you connect your computer to up to three monitors. The little box can be used with any video card(s) and can output a resolution of 3840×1024 pixels. Perhaps three 19″ LCD monitors with 1280x1024px native resolutions.

This results in new possibilities in everything from games to image editing and is actually a much cheaper solution than e.g. buying a 30″ LCD monitor. We’re still talking big cash here, but the concept is very interesting and at TG Daily they’ve published a video interview with the PC builder ABS where they show how a Quad SLI system with TripleHead2Go could look like, which looks quite nice.
