R520 is as you may know by now ATi’s next graphic circuit and we have earlier reported that the introduction of R520 has been delayed for a couple of months. According to DigiTimes there are problems with the transition to the new 90nm manufacturing process. Not entirely unexpected the problems are related to power leakage, something both nVidia and Intel has had earlier experiences with. Because of the delay of the R520 several PC-manufacturers has chosen to go with nVidia’s new flagship, GeForce 7800 GTX instead for its high-end system which will be launched later this year. A big blow for ATi, that probably is starting to feel som real heat from nVidia by now.
