Radeon HD 4850X2 benchmarks

We recently presented the first pictures of Sapphire’s Radeon HD 4850X2 graphics card. The card houses, just like the bigger brother 4870X2, two RV770 GPUs. The major difference is that the graphics memory has been reduced to GDDR3 instead of GDDR5, while both memory and GPU are operating at lower frequencies. The frequencies are the same as with the single-GPU card Radeon HD 4850, both with GPU and memory. Over at VR-Zone they have published benchmarks with Sapphire’s coming dual-GPU card.

The tests are done with Intel’s coming Core i7 platform and produce some really nice results, but at the same time hard to compare to other cards. AMD seems to have another good card coming with its second dual-GPU card based on the RV770 circuit. The deciding factor will of course be the price and eventual launch date.
