AMD is moving forward with its new generation of graphics circuits. After Radeon HD 5870 and HD 5850 were launched for the performance users we are now closing in on the new mid-range cards, launching October 12th. These cards will sport AMD’s Juniper GPU and will be branded Radeon HD 5770 and HD 5750. The prices will be in the $100-200 range, which is a critical segment as this is the most popular among the large crowd of gamers. Last week the first pictures and tests with Radeon HD 5750 appeared and now it has been sighted in stores.
Considering performance it looks like the entry model Radeon HD 5750 will dethrone Radeon HD 4850 and GeForce GTS250 in the benchmarks. And that doesn’t take DirectX 11 and lower power consumption into account.

We will return with more performance evaluations of the Radeon HD 5700 family next week, but until then we can also establish that the first Radeon HD 5700 cards have been listed at e-tailer Mindfactory.de. PowerColor’s reference card can be ordered for 150 euro and 120 euro respectively.
The differences between the two are not just the clock frequencies, 825MHz and 700MHz, but also the number of Stream processors; 800 Stream processor vs. 720 SP, while both sport 1GB GDDR5 memory. More information on the Juniper series shortly.
