Radeon X1800 XL is one of the graphic cards ATi is will launch on October 5th based on the new R520-architecture. At HKEPC they’ve acquired a testresult with this card in 3Dmark05 and compared it with its perhaps biggest opponent GeForce 7800 GT. The results are very even, but so far ATi is quite there yet as 7800GT beats X1800 XL even though it is not by much.

And then we know that ATi about to launch new drivers that will increase performance significantly for its new X1800-series. And if these figures are correct we’re looking a tight race between ATi and nVidia.
